N2  - In August 2018 issue of the Journal of Clinical Oncology, Yang and coworker published a well-designed analysis of 451 patients with potentially resectable thoracic esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), clinically staged as T1-4N1M0/T4N0M0, who were randomly assigned to the neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (NCRT) plus surgery, or to surgery alone groups (1). The study was presented as the phase III multicenter, randomized, open-label clinical trial. It was a great honor to be invited to provide editorial comments on this article.
