Early enteral nutrition still has advantages in patients undergoing pancreaticoduodenectomy %K %X The physiological benefits of enteral nutrition (EN) have been well documented, including its association with maintenance of the structural integrity of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, reduced gut permeability, and increased mesenteric blood flow (1). EN has also been associated with reductions in infectious complications, mortality, length of hospital stay (LOS), and costs (2-5).
