Journal of Thoracic Disease

Aims and Scope

The Journal of Thoracic Disease (JTD, J Thorac Dis, pISSN: 2072-1439; eISSN: 2077-6624), founded in Dec 2009, is an international, peer-reviewed, open access journal covering the field of respiratory, lung, heart, esophageal and mediastinal diseases. JTD publishes manuscripts that describe new findings and provide current, practical information on the diagnosis and treatment of conditions related to thoracic disease. All the submission and reviewing are conducted electronically so that rapid review is assured. Published quarterly from December 2009 to December 2011 and bimonthly from January 2012 to December 2013, JTD now follows a monthly publication model. It has been indexed by Web of Science [Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE)], PubMed/PubMed Central and Scopus. It received an impact factor of 1.9 for the year 2024.

JTD is published by AME Publishing Company, with support from Wolters Kluwer (the journal content will be made available on Wolters Kluwer Health’s Lippincott and Ovid platforms).

JTD is a member of Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and it follows the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE)'s guidelines and the ICMJE recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing, and Publication of Scholarly Work in Medical Journal.

Manuscripts submitted must be the original work of the author(s) and must not be published previously or under consideration for publication elsewhere.

Submission Turnaround Time

  • In-house review: 1-3 weeks.
  • External peer review: 1-3 months.
  • Publication Ahead of Print: within 1 month after being accepted (with APC payment received).
  • Formal publication: within 1-3 months after being accepted (with APC payment received). Original Articles are listed as priority.
