The symposium will present the decade-long research progress on new and sudden respiratory disease in China mainland, Hong Kong and Macau with a focus on the prevention and treatment of major contagious respiratory diseases as SARS and influenza, aiming to promote communication and cooperation between experts on basic and clinical research and to enhance the development of related research in China and increase their international impact. The symposium is also held to commemorate and pay tribute to the medical personnel and professionals who have greatly devoted to fighting against SARS.
