The Professor Jianxing He Lung Cancer Research Team, Guangzhou Institution of Respiratory Diseases & Respiratory Diseases National Key Laboratory, is opening a call for a Post-Doc position.
About Professor Jianxing He, MD, PhD, FACS
Professor Jianxing He, MD, PhD, FACS, doctoral supervisor of thoracic surgery. Prof He won the honorable title of “Mid-aged and Young Expert with Outstanding Contribution” by the China Ministry of Health (MOH) in 2010. He currently acts as the PI of National Key Laboratory of Respiratory Disease, chief advisor of National Ministry of Health Clinical Invasive Pathway Technique Advisory Board, chairman of National Evaluation Committee for Endoscopic Skills, president of Guangdong Thoracic Surgeon Society, chief physician and director of the thoracic surgery department of the First Hospital Affiliated to Guangzhou Medical College, and PI of Translational Medicine Lab in the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical College. He has published more than 200 scientific papers in cardio-thoracic surgery, including 23 SCI-indexed articles with an accumulative impact factor (IF) of 100.623, including one co-first-authored artciel in Lancet (A practical molecular assay to predict survival in resected non-squamous, non-small-cell lung cancer: development and international validation studies), which has opened a new era for the treatment of early stage non-squamous NSCLC. Under his leadership, the Asian-Pacific Lung Cancer Specimen and Tissue Bank, which has collected more than 20,000 samples including 18 multi-resisted lung cancer cell lines, has bees successfully established. His new research interests include the therapeutic (chemotherapy, radiotherapy and targeted therapy) resistance mechanism of lung cancer cells, new Western Blotting reagents of lung cancer tissue, early-stage prevention and diagnosis of lung cancer, orientated census of lung cancer patient group, and construction of new suicide gene transfected vector of lung cancer.
About the Professor Jianxing He Lung Cancer Research Team
The lung cancer research team led by Prof. He has obtained many achievements. The team established the Sino-Canada Lung Cancer Lab with Toronto University and the Sino-USA Joint Lab on Lung Diseases with University of California San Francisco (UCSF). Some renown scientists including Michael Mann from UCSF, Hai-bo Zhang from University of Toronto, Liang Chun from Hongkong Scientific University Cancer Center, Craig Mello (the Nobel Prize winner), and Robert Mckenna (the inventor of VATS) have joined the team as the guest professors. Prof. He is undertaking more than 30 scientific projects (10,000,000 plus research fund) including those supported by “National 863 Program” and “National Science Foundation”.
Position:Post-doctoral Researcher
Research interests:Molecular pathology, oncology, and Molecular biology
Qualification:
(1)Doctor degree; study/work experience in a foreign country will be preferred.
(2)Be familiar with the basic procedures and basic equipment operation and proficient in PCR and Western blotting.
(3)Be the first author in at least 1 SCI-indexed journal; candidates with articles have a cumulative IF of >3 will be preferred.
(4)Be a part in State-level research project and ranked the leading three positions; or, have been participated in ministry-level projects.
Conditions for the position:
(1) The wage will be 200,000 RMB yuan per year, including the financial support from the Guangzhou Government for post-doctoral researcher, basic salary, and other bonuses. Meanwhile, the PostDoc will be supported by the hospital in applying for scientific prides.
(2) According to relevant laws and regulations, te spouse and children will be supported for their settlement in Guangzhou.
(3) A further employment plan may be reached based on the PostDoc’s performance.
Period:At least 2 years, and will be further agreed based on the research progress.
