Dr Wanqing Chen is the Section Editor for Cancer Registry, Prevention and Control in JTD.
Dr Chen Wan-Qing graduated from Bethune University of Medical Sciences, Changchun, China, and practised as a radiotherapist in the Cancer Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Beijing, from 1995-2000. He obtained an MIPH (honours) degree in International Public Health in Sydney University, Australia, in 2004. He then joined the National Office for Cancer Prevention and Control in the Ministry of Health, Beijing, China, and became Deputy Director shortly thereafter. He directs several national programmes in cancer prevention research and is in charge of the National Central Cancer Registry, co-ordinating over 200 cancer registries. He is involved several nationwide projects as PI or co-PI.
Dr. Chen is also a member of National Health Information Society, Executive Vice Director of Cancer Registration and Surveillance Committee, the standing committee member of Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, Branch of Prevention and Control for Chronic Non-Communicable Disease, Editorial Director of Journal of China Cancer, the standing committee member of Asian Network of Cancer Registry, the member of editorial board of several professional journals. He has published more than 60 scientific articles and 6 monographs as editor-in-chief or member of editorial board and peer reviewer of some science journals.
