Qingling Zhang is now the professor and doctoral supervisor at Guangzhou Medical University. She currently serves as the Administrative Deputy Director of National Clinical Research Center for Respiratory Disease. She is also a member of the National Health Science Popularization Expert Database of China. Professor Zhang is the Deputy Chairman of the Chronic Airway Disease Professional Committee of the Chinese Medical Education Association and the Deputy Chairman of the (Preparatory) Vasculitis Professional Committee of the China Rare Disease Alliance. She holds editorial positions on several journals, including being an editorial board member of Respirology, and a review expert for various journals including the International Journal of Respiratory Medicine and the Chinese Medical Journal.

She has pursued her PhD degree at Guangzhou Medical University from 2005 to 2008 under the mentorship of Academician Zhong Nanshan. From 2009 to 2011, she worked as a clinical researcher at the National Heart and Lung Institute at Imperial College London. Her main research is focus on severe asthma and eosinophilic infiltration-related diseases. She was the lead author of Chinese Multi-disciplinary Expert Consensus on Diagnosis and Treatment of EGPA (2018) and Chinese Expert Consensus on Diagnosis and Treatment of Eosinophilic Pulmonary Diseases (2022).

She has received numerous accolades, including the European Respiratory Society Research Scholar Grant in 2010, the 2019 High-impact Respiratory Medicine Paper Award from the Chinese Medical Association, and the Excellent Respiratory Physician Award from the Chinese Medical Doctor Association in 2020.
