Advantages associated with the use of a wound retractor compared to a rigid trocar inserted via the camera port during video-assisted thoracic surgery
Abstract
Raveglia et al. (1), in a prospective randomized study published in the Journal of Visualized Surgery, showed that use of a wound retractor (compared to a rigid trocar) during video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) was associated with less postoperative pain and better scope maneuverability.
