The 6th Zhongshan minimal invasive thoracic surgery and endoscope symposium was successfully held

During May 14th-16th, 2015, the 6th Zhongshan minimal invasive thoracic surgery and endoscope Symposium was successfully held in Zhongshan Hospital in Shanghai, China. The meeting gathers about ten top experts and 350 thoracic scholars from all over the world, discuss and share their new progress on their recent research (Figure 1).

As one of the co-organizers, AME Publishing Company participated in and broadcast the whole meeting (Figure 2). Our new book Lung Cancer was exhibited and promoted during the meeting, and was very well received by experts (Figure 3).

Theme Section 1: video-assisted thoracic surgery—pulmonary segment

Prof. Kang Chang Hyun from Seoul National University, Prof. Chia-Chuan Liu from Koo Foundation Sun Yat-Sen Cancer Center, Prof. Liang Chen from Jiangsu Province Hospital (Figure 4), etc., shared with us the recent progress on anatomy, location, techniques and their experiences.

Theme Section 2: minimal invasive treatment in esophageal carcinoma

Prof. Yuko Kitagawa from Keio University, Prof. Simon Law from Queen Marry Hospital, Prof. Yin Li from Henan Cancer Hospital, etc., give excellent presentation on the topic (Figure 5).

Theme Section 3: under xiphoid and single port VATS

From four ports to three ports, from two to single, and to single port under xiphoid, minimal invasive VATS has made great advances during these years. In this section, Prof. Chia-Chuan Liu from Koo Foundation Sun Yat-Sen Cancer Center, Prof. Alan Sihoe from Queen Mary Hospital, Prof. Lunxu Liu from West China Hospital, etc., (Figure 6) share their unique opinions, experience and thoughts on the technique.

Theme Section 4: robotic surgery, bronchopleural fistula, endoscopic treatment in airway disease

Prof. Kim Dae Joon from Yonsei University, Prof. Qingquan Luo from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Prof. di Ge and Prof. Hong Fan from Zhongshan Hospital (Figure 7) gave interesting presentation on this theme, and made a beautiful ending to the meeting.
