Thoracoscopic and laparoscopic radical esophagectomy with left neck anastomosis
Abstract
We described a 50-year-old female, who came to our institute with the diagnosis of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma. The preoperative clinical diagnosis was stage II esophageal squamous cell carcinoma. The minimally invasive esophagectomy (MIE), combined thoracoscopic-laparoscopic esophagectomy with cervical anastomosis, was performed in this case. Total surgery time was 190 min and blood loss was 100 mL. Postoperative pathological exam suggested squamous cell carcinoma, without evidence of lymph node metastasis in any station (T2N0M0 IIb stage). The patient was discharged home on the 12th postoperative day.
