Advances in lung cancer with a focus on ATS 2016 updates
Abstract
The 2015 World Health Organization (WHO) classification of tumors of the lung, pleura, thymus and heart has important changes from the 2004 WHO classification (1). The most significant changes include the use of immunohistochemistry to assist the classification and the use of genetic studies with molecular testing to help personalize the treatment for advanced lung cancer patients.
